Reverse Evangelism and the Great Commision
This blog is supposed to be a reflection on the Fearless Summit 2020, which was dubbed 'Be the Spark'. I must say, the annual theme is much needed during this pandemic time.

What stood out for me was the last day of the summit, the fearless Sunday. There was the send out commission of Pastor Kevin and his wife Lucy to North America and that was quite emotional. It is a divine phenomenal that God has chosen two 'unlikely' African children to go and be part of the great commission in Washington DC, the capital of governance. Pastor Muriithi commissioned them with a verse from Psalms 102:18, 'Write this down for the next generation so people not yet born will praise God' This was an amazing verse to remind the missionary couple that the send out was definitely out of great obedience but also for generations.

The second part of the service was led by Pastor Aaron Graham, the senior pastor of District Church, (coincidently where Pastor Kevin and Lucy) are being sent out to. Pastor Aaron spoke about the spirit of Josiah during this unprecedented season. He encouraged the attendees not to allow our age (either real or measured in terms of experience) to be a hindrance in impacting one's environment for God. secondly, he also says that we should not be entangled in our father's sins but seek to do what God's will is.

I must give it to Mavuno Chruch because in as much as they are executing the great commission, they are also in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals and in particular Goal 17, which encourages the need for partnerships. it reminds me that as Christians we don't operate in a vacuum and God is truly concerned about the human race.
