Goodbye FEAR, Hello FREEDOM

Dear M&M,

It is said that from the age of 0-24 years we learn from copying what we see, and from 25 years onwards, we learn from trauma :-) I truly don't have scientific backing for this, but somehow I guess it's true especially when I look at the evidence in my life and those around me... But relax... nothing to be afraid of.
This is you at 1 year 3 months... I'm proud of you
because I know adults who can't stand chicken

As you grow older, you will find that you embrace fear knowingly or unknowingly, life experiences have a way of crushing dreams and causing self-doubt... Trust me, this is normal... the only difference is, how you dust yourself and move on from bad experience, what you learn from a good experience and how you pass it on. 

Never forget that you have been sunshine from day 1

I must say that I have embraced a lot of fear and self-doubt as I have lived out the trauma phase in my life... but guess what? every day I learn and relearn how to embrace what God has for me and what He wants from me. so, allow me to share a practical tip I have used to get through some fears: 

🧘‍♂️Take some time off and find a quiet place 

🧘‍♂️Think of your greatest fear (in regards to family, career, life etc) 

🧘‍♂️Go through the motion of why the fear, where did it originate from (if it gets too intense, bookmark that and journal) 

🧘‍♂️ Take a deep breath, start thinking positively about the fear, the great things that would happen if you were not afraid, who do you know who has overcome something silimilar (maybe book a date for a conversation or even an email - trust me people love talking about themselves) 

🧘‍♂️Put into place tangible steps to overcome the feeling of fear 😱 next time it glares at you. 

🧘‍♂️ DREAM BIG 2020 is the year of audacious Breathtaking Dreams and Executed Vision... Be bold in your dreams

 This blog is supposed to be a reflection on the Fearless Summit 2020, which was dubbed 'Be the Spark' . I must say, the annual theme is much needed during this pandemic time. Summit Theme What stood out for me was the last day of the summit, the fearless Sunday. There was the send out commission of Pastor Kevin and his wife Lucy to North America and that was quite emotional. It is a divine phenomenal that God has chosen two 'unlikely' African children to go and be part of the great commission in Washington DC, the capital of governance.  Pastor Muriithi commissioned them with a verse from Psalms 102:18, 'Write this down for the next generation so people not yet born will praise God' This was an amazing verse to remind the missionary couple that the send out was definitely out of great obedience but also for generations. BEING A BETTER PERSON.

Dear #CrownPrince, the warm embrace of family.. you can never go wrong. Happy 2.5 years. All I can say, is I am continually amazed by how God has held you and brought you this far. You have grown into a joyful son, learning new words everyday and speaking your mind. (I wonder where you get that from) But I am so proud of you. Your love for music and dance is amazing, your love for books challenges me every day and your love for God is so amazing. You are a true shepherd.    Son, today I speak to you about being a better person. You see there is a big word known as SELF-ESTEEM (Google for definition :-) ).  Self-Esteem affects all of us knowingly or unknowingly and therefore, what we believe of ourselves, affects how others respond to us. Some people have an inflated self esteem, what I call pride and others have a subdued self-worth what I call laziness. The balance to that is what we call a mature and healthy self-esteem or self-worth....
