Memorable Speech by Idi Amin

Image
Dear #CrownPrince.... WoW, what a week it has been my dear. The highlight for this week is that you are now singing a prayer.... that warms my heart. May God continually increase you and shield you. So today, i thought some humor would go a loooooong way and bring some smiles and sunshine to you. Many moons ago, before the era of mobile phones, Facebook, Twitter and a lot more technology.....a time when fax and Post Office Box (P.O.Box era) were actually functional and classy, there was a man named Idi Amin .  Idi Amin is remembered as a dictator in Uganda during his reign. He is also remembered for a speech he gave the queen while in London many years back. Today i share that speech with you for two reasons: To remind you that education and knowledge are two different things, and each of them is very very important. It doesn't matter how much you think you don't know... at the end of the day, CONFIDENCE plays a big part in your life. so here is the speech courtesy...

BEING A BETTER PERSON.

Dear #CrownPrince, the warm embrace of family.. you can never go wrong. Happy 2.5 years. All I can say, is I am continually amazed by how God has held you and brought you this far. You have grown into a joyful son, learning new words everyday and speaking your mind. (I wonder where you get that from) But I am so proud of you. Your love for music and dance is amazing, your love for books challenges me every day and your love for God is so amazing. You are a true shepherd.    Son, today I speak to you about being a better person. You see there is a big word known as SELF-ESTEEM (Google for definition :-) ).  Self-Esteem affects all of us knowingly or unknowingly and therefore, what we believe of ourselves, affects how others respond to us. Some people have an inflated self esteem, what I call pride and others have a subdued self-worth what I call laziness. The balance to that is what we call a mature and healthy self-esteem or self-worth....

Along Came Failure….

Hugs and Kisses to you Thama and Thamana, This has been the toughest piece to write. Tata Ythes has us thinking and praying for you by name. It is not a bad thing... So why not? And she is actually a very cool aunt. cant wait for you guys to meet her (Ythes added this :-) I n choosing what to write to you boys, I have been made to interrogate lessons I have learnt personally and ask Papa many questions.   Today we write about Failure. Failure is an event, not a person. Yes, everyday that the sun rises, is a new opportunity to live successfully. So when failure comes, like the clouds it passes away. These are some statements i have heard from people in my lifetime:- *Njeri , you have so much potential,* said many people, but none of them told me what potential is. *Njeri, you are a Subaru performing at 20%, such a waste,* said another; I didn't know what that meant either. As I write this morning, counting my blessings as successes and...

SHOW ME YOUR FRIENDS, I SHOW YOU WHO YOU ARE

Dear Thama & Thamana, some very cute 'borrowed' twin boys   I am writing you this letter knowing it's the first of VERY MANY. This one is going to be about friendships.  I would love for you boys to make friends for life. Friendships are for a season and a reason. Some are for you to hold and take care of them like Christ. Others are for you to take care of, to be Grace and Precious Peace for them. I draw these lessons from your papa and I. Mostly mine, :-) we had to borrow some more... First and foremost, guard your heart above all, for out of it springs matters of life. Also in guarding your heart, you have peace in Christ Jesus. I know you love like your papa and mama, and your heart is vulnerable.  Secondly, you will need to keep a friend, and this is how to: Define what friendships are to you, how far will you go for a friend? Will the friend do the same for you? It doesn't matter. Be the best you can be. The bible has all that y...
